It's Christmas Break. And it couldn't have come at a better time.
Over the past week and a half, I don't think I've ever been more angry at a single person. Or perhaps... I suppose it's not anger. It's dissapointment.
There are a few very specific things or mindsets I hate.
First, Lies. I hate lies, accusations, bending of the truth. I cannot be around people who lie frequently.
Second, Arrogance/Pride. I hate those who love themselves, who put themselves above others. Whether or not they seem to have a good reason. Pride is the Fall of Man. Humility, the Robe of Kings.
Third, Discrimination/Bigotry. This is more flexible, as some people deserve discrimination for their actions. However, I hate the thought that one should be discriminated against for thier race, age, or religious beliefs. (Religion is different in the fact that some 'religions' are absolutely immoral and sinful. I may also make the case that certain people's mindsets are practically a 'religion' to them, and are immoral or sinful.) Bigotry is simply pride gone crazy.
Now, two of these three are involved with the person I'm dissapointed/angry with. Therefore, I find myself more upset and bothered than ever before.
How can I find a song to relate to this? I've written a couple, and one of my friends (who is in the band I am in) wrote some too. But to find a popular song, perhaps a combination of McFly's "Bubblewrap", Carli Simon's (ft. Mick Jagger) "Your So Vain", and Arcade Fire's "Rebellion(Lies)".
Ta-Dah.

Finally, a Break.
It's November 20th, a Tuesday. And finally, it's Thanksgiving break. No school, no aruguments with all those at my school, no getting up at 6am. I love it.
Lately, the world has seemed to pushed me down to the final piece of home. My music. I've cryed, laughed, and yelled. But through every piece of it, God has spoken to me through music. I'm comforted.
I recently heard a song called 'Bubble Wrap' by McFly. I love it, and it describes how I feel quite well... I'm through with giving up my heart to those who hurt me. Although, I'm not sleeping with the person or in a relationship with them. I've simply known them.
I wish I could Bubble Wrap my heart,
In case I fall and break apart,
I'm not God, I can't change the stars,
And I don't know if there's life on Mars,
But I know you're hurt,
People that you love and those who care for you,
I want nothing to do with the things you're going through.
This is the last time,
I give up this heart of mine,
I'm telling you that I'm
A broken man who's finally realised.
You're standing in moonlight,
But you're black on the inside,
Who do you think you are to cry?
This is goodbye.
I'm a little dazed and confused,
Life's a bitch and so are you.
All my days have turned into nights,
'Cause living without, without, without you in my life.
And you wrote the book on how to be a liar,
And lose all your friends,
Did I mean nothing at all?
Was I just another ghost that's been in your bed?
'Cause this is the last time,
I give up this heart of mine,
I'm telling you that I'm
A broken man who's finally realised.
You're standing in moonlight,
But you're black on the inside,
Who do you think you are to cry?
This is goodbye.
Yeah!
Turn on the radio honey,
'Cause every single sad song you'll be able to relate!
This one I dedicate.
Whoa oh!
Don't get all emotional baby,
You can never talk to me, you're unable to communicate!
This is the last time,
I give up this heart of mine,
I'm telling you that I'm
A broken man who's finally realised...

I also wrote a lyric as well, and I'll post a bit of it here: "Trust is like a heart, breaking over and over again/ You always love the start, and you hate the end/"
I'm really glad this break is here... yesterday was the breaking point, and today I was just dulled and broken. Hopefully I'll heal by the end of the week.

BILLY JOEL.
AHHH I am now very excited and happy.
Last Satrday I woke up at 9:30am to get online and wait til 10:00am when tickets for Billy Joel would go on sale.
I got them! They were section 100, the level right after Floor.
However... I was too slow and lost them... sad sad sad...
But Behold! The next tickets I waited for were BETTER!!! I ended up buying two tickets for Row 27 on the Floor!!!
AMAZING. I'm so thankful!!! :)

NOW! Ah!
Right now I'm sitting at my dad's office desk listening to Seventeen Ain't So Sweet by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I feel angry, dissapointed, and yet rather content.
Angry - Certain people I know get patted on the back way too much for and after doing the wrong things.
Dissapointed - High hopes? I have none.
Rather Content - I will always have music.
NOW! A word to explain all that: I'm alright. I'm a bit unhappy, but some people are way worse off than me. And I have music to play, music to hear, music to sing. Plus, the best songs are the ones written when one is extremely unhappy. So I guess that's good...?
Ah! Bennie and the Jets is playing now... a brilliant song. Great bass line as well...

Dear Frankie
So, as I've mentioned, I've recently started a band, with two and a half of my friends, called Dear Frankie. We've written at least one song (together) and multiple others. Our music would be described as... perhaps sad, perhaps angry. Perhaps even a little happy. It's rock...pop...y... stuff. Alternative I supose.
(A word on our styles: We have all sortof created our own images of the music we want to play based on our musical idols. Mine would be mainly Elton John(My favorite as I love piano and play it) and Queen. Though I love almost all music and think very highly of other artists(Ben Folds, Eminem, Arcade Fire, etc.). The others (we shall call them Little Joanna and Dookie and the Other. At times I'm know as Muse #3.) listen to other artists. Obviously. Dookie is a little punker indeed! Haha. She enjoys My Chemical Romance, and Greenday. Mostly (I think) Greenday.(She also went through several years of Hip-hop and R&B) Little Joanna is the same. (I also love those artists and have seen Greenday in concert with Dookie) As for the Other, I really don't know. So there it is.)
In regards to the players in the band, we basically don't know many instruments, but are working it out. =) Little Joanna is the main singer, with Dookie and I singing occasionally (similar to McFly or Arcade Fire). We're hoping she'll learn Bass as well. Dookie is learning pick guitar (mainly from me telling her what I want her to do hah) and has played piano for a while. The Other is the keyboardist. I play rhythm/pick guitar, piano(mainly), bit of harmonica..., and can play bass a little. In other words: we are trying to figure out a Bassist and a Drummer(Dookie would like to do this).
Alright. So that's the "brief" overview.

Me & Mine
So this is a description for my first post on my blog.
It's basically about my life, but more about the part I love. Music and family.
When I say 'family' it involves both my blood-relatives and the people I can't imagine life without. A few people on this list are: My mom, dad, brothers, sisters, nephew, nieces, and three great friends I recently started a band with. The band is Dear Frankie, and I love it.
Obviously I love music, and obviously I love playing music. More to come on that in 'Dear Frankie'
So yeah.
