It's Christmas Break. And it couldn't have come at a better time.
Over the past week and a half, I don't think I've ever been more angry at a single person. Or perhaps... I suppose it's not anger. It's dissapointment.
There are a few very specific things or mindsets I hate.
First, Lies. I hate lies, accusations, bending of the truth. I cannot be around people who lie frequently.
Second, Arrogance/Pride. I hate those who love themselves, who put themselves above others. Whether or not they seem to have a good reason. Pride is the Fall of Man. Humility, the Robe of Kings.
Third, Discrimination/Bigotry. This is more flexible, as some people deserve discrimination for their actions. However, I hate the thought that one should be discriminated against for thier race, age, or religious beliefs. (Religion is different in the fact that some 'religions' are absolutely immoral and sinful. I may also make the case that certain people's mindsets are practically a 'religion' to them, and are immoral or sinful.) Bigotry is simply pride gone crazy.
Now, two of these three are involved with the person I'm dissapointed/angry with. Therefore, I find myself more upset and bothered than ever before.
How can I find a song to relate to this? I've written a couple, and one of my friends (who is in the band I am in) wrote some too. But to find a popular song, perhaps a combination of McFly's "Bubblewrap", Carli Simon's (ft. Mick Jagger) "Your So Vain", and Arcade Fire's "Rebellion(Lies)".
Ta-Dah.
